Unfinished test cuts and the lines produced in illustrator. I attached the silk to card with masking tape to keep it flat an stable in the lazer cutter. At first I used spray mount but then I was left with the problem of sticky backed silk. As the lazer cuts through, the silk and card become stuck together along the cutting line. They can be pulled gently apart but if the lines are too close the material breaks so I need to adjust the original art work to allow for this. I like the way the material photographs and the distortion of the image as the material moves and folds.

Another old black and white of mine, capturing movement in a still image, a long exposure and panning the camera.

An image I took many years ago, before digital, on a film camera using hand held flash. Looking at this whilst researching capturing movement on a still image with regard to the D&AD brief.
